
Dutch pancake....it was a "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" when I tried it for the first time in April at a nice restaurant in Amsterdam. It is thinner than what we usually call "pancake" but it's much thicker than French crepe. I had never experienced a pancake with bacon and cheese on it, but what drew my interst was that they add syrup or powder sugar over that "salty version of" pancake! It was a very new idea for me, and I liked it very much : ) Yummy!!! In the picture you can see the pancake in the shape of bear face! It's a T-fal frying pan for pannenkoek(the Dutch pancake) that I found in a kitchen tool store in Amsterdam. It's my most favorite pan in the kitchen ; ) back home |
