■ foreign books bargain [ NO. 2007082201-1 ]

Today I went to the annual foreign books bargain in Shinjuku.

This is an annual event (sometimes twice a year) and I am always looking forward to it for the rest of the year long.

Nowadays, we can buy foreign books quite easily, and very often, we can find them better price thanks to internet. When I was a student, only some big bookstores dealt with imported books even in Tokyo.

Sometimes I wonder how much easier it would have been to study English if I was a student in this internet generation.

When I was 13, when all the Japanese students start to study English at school, there was no CDs yet!

Tapes (especially the tapes for special activities such as English studies) were horribly expensive,  and what was worse, they were not easy to deal with....easily tangled or bent, and even took time to find the exact phrase I needed on the spot!! LoL

Anyways, I like going to this annual book bargain and see various sections of books - picturebooks for children, paperbacks, art books, cookbooks, embroidary books, Japan guidebooks...so on and on.
